Volunteer Program

Are you in search of a way to get your high school volunteer hours while having a great time with friends? Do you want to further your skills or learn the spectacular joy of spending time up in the saddle? At Mountain Creek Ranch we offer a great after school program for teens that allows you two horseback ride, spend time with your friends, all while earning volunteer hours. Students from Grade 9-12 can get off the bus here at the Ranch after school on Fridays for three hours of living the life of a rancher. Each hour they will rotate to a new activity. One hour will be spent taking a lesson, trail riding, or taking part in mounted games. Another rotation will be having a quick snack that you bring and free time. Free time may include petting farm time, learning to lasso, or taking part in Natural Horsemanship Activities. The last rotation will be helping out with basic barn chores, and learning the responsibilities of owning a horse and living on a ranch. This will give students one hour of Community service every Friday they come. This is an opportunity for students to branch out and try something new, build upon their confidence, and lastly grow charterer-able skills that will last a lifetime. Experiences at the ranch act as a real eye opener towards young people and we make it our mission to help students become motivated towards achieving their goals. Riding is a great way for teenagers to unwind from the stress of studies, work, and school while recharging with the mountain air.
